...well sort of, in a few weeks that's what we'll be saying!!  we just wanted to let you all know that we'll be traveling to hawaii next month for a wedding and a little down time (need I say we SUPER DUPER EXCITED!!!) and while we are there, we want to extend a very special invite to those of you who are going to be on the island of maui, and more specifically wailea, on tuesday august 26th-thursday august 28th…we'll only be taking a very limited number of sessions, but if you're interested or know someone who might be interested in a fun lifestyle session with us, please get in touch with us!!  drop me a quick email at: lauren@openFieldphotography.com

the oFp. road trip...it's almost here!!

 ...that's right, the great 2008 oFp. road trip is almost here!!  we wanted to once again just let everyone know where we'll be and that we have a few spots still open in some of the cities we'll be visiting!!  TRUST ME, you don't want to be left out, and just think how great your family holiday cards will look with a fun image of your family; your card will CERTAINLY stand out when your friends hang in on their fridge!!  and all you high-schoolers out there, just think, you'll be the envy of the WHOLE school when you pass out some kick-butt, funky, high-fashion wallets and everyone else is passing out "boring" ones!!  and i didn't forget about all you couples who are getting married, even if you don't have a photographer for your wedding day (we LOVE to travel for weddings!!) or maybe you DO have a photographer, and that's ok too, but wouldn't it be great to have a lifestyle session with us?!?!  if nothing else, you'll have some FUN images and you'll get to feel like a total rock-star for the day!!

when? september 8th - september 20th

where?  we'll be starting out in richmond, va, then traveling to northern virginia, and finishing things up in philadelphia, pa.

what kind of sessions will be photographing?  SUPER fun children's personality sessions, SUPER hot lifestyle & lifestyle e-session, SUPER funky high-school senior lifestyle sessions, SUPER relaxed family sessions, and anything else that makes YOU or US smile!!

who will be photographing the sessions?  robbie and i of course!!  : )

investment? $300 and includes 1-2 hours of photography at an outdoor location* of your choice.  on-line viewing, proofing and ordering, and 35-45 images, all of which will be hosted on a custom designed, password protected website for 1 month.  a reservation free of $150 is required to hold the date & time for each session.  *locations must be local to the city that we're visiting!!

lynn & mike.

we met up with lynn & mike while we were down in mississippi a few weeks back...it really is a SMALL WORLD...you see, when we first met lynn, she casually said, "my fiancee is in the air force, and right after the wedding, i'll be moving down to mississippi..." to which i responded, "oh yeah, where in mississippi?" to which she answered, "columbus, mississippi" which is where my parents had just recently moved to!!  fast forward a few months later and when we traveled down to the south for the 4th of july we had the chance to meet up with the two of them for a fun lifestyle e-session!!  downtown columbus proved to be an AWESOME location, tons of cute little doors and alleyways, totally a photographers dream!!  they're such a fun, cute, down to earth couple, we can't WAIT for their september wedding!! 

another story that's too funny not to share...so mike is a pilot/training instructor and flies nearly everyday, and in fact he flies over my parents new house all the time!!  so when we were trying get their session scheduled, she mentioned that he flew in the morning, but would be done by late afternoon...SO i decided that since i knew for sure he was flying that day i was going to wave at every plane that flew over the house that day, and then when we met up later i would ask him if he saw me waving!!  i thought that was TOO FUNNY and still, even as i'm typing this i'm laughing!!  so i asked mike if he saw me, he laughed, and most likely thought, "wow, she's crazy." HA!!! 

enough funny stories for one day...bring on the images!!

...OH lindsay & kevin!!  what else can we say, we LOVE these two!!  they were absolute DREAM clients and the kind of couple you could photograph all day long!!  after we met up with them for their e-session, we couldn't WAIT for their wedding, we just knew it would be a blast, and they did not disappoint!!  their whole day was romantic and dreamy and so much FUN!!  the entire bridal party was as fun as they could be and their guests were equally as awesome and crazy on the dance floor (its always a good time when nearly all the guests are up on the dance floor!!)  a GIANT hug and thank you to lindsay & kevin for allowing us to capture your day, we wish you guys tons of love!!

we got started at the cutest little salon with lindsay and her girls...

they were married at an absolutely beautiful church...i loved these doors.

and i'll be honest, i was obsessed with her shoes, if you look close you can see her "something blue" on the bottom of one of them...it was a "m" for her new last name.

ok, so this the the best man, aka: kevin's brother randy..i'm telling you what, he had some MOVES on the dance floor!!  he was awesome and kept everyone entertained 100%!!  here he is doing the "Y.M.C.A"

and this is the cutest story ever...when lindsay was in college she worked at subway...kevin would come in every day to check her out and order a sandwich...how SWEET is that?!?!  we knew as soon as we heard the story of how they met we somehow had to incorporate subway into at least ONE image.  after we did a little brainstorming  this is what we came up with...

you might remember brittany & clint from their fun lifestyle e-session last summer...well, now they're married!!  a few weeks back we traveled to green castle, indiana, and depauw university for their wedding!!  the whole day was filled with love and fun little touches that brittany & clint added to their day, right down to the vintage sports car they drove off in to their reception!!  they both surrounded themselves with amazing friends and their families we equally as great!!  thanks so much again brittany & clint, we wish you guys TONS of love and happiness always!!  congrats!!

cara & lee.

...a few weeks back, we had the wonderful opportunity to photograph the wedding of two of the sweetest people EVER...you probably remember cara & lee from their super fun engagement session...i'm 100% sure that words can express the amount of love and happiness that we not only saw, but got to take part in!!  i've said it before, and i'll say it again...we have the GREATEST jobs and when we get to work with great people like cara & lee and their amazing friends and families, it makes it even that much better!!

in typical fun cara & lee style the guys got straight razor shaves at a fun little barber shop...HOW FUN!?!? the girls had their share of fun too, i finally got to meet the fantastic kiralee (who ladies, if you're looking for a FANTASTIC make-up artist, look no further, call her!) and i had a blast just hanging out and laughing with cara and her girls!!

cara & lee are ABSOLUTELY made for each other, no doubt about that...so with them, their hilariously funny friends, family, and kickball teammates everyone gathered at the omni hotelin downtown indianaoplis...their whole day was filled with happiness and love...a big "thank you" to both cara & lee's families and a GIANT thank you to cara & lee, you're the BEST!!  sending you guys BIG HUGS (all the way to utah!!)

ok, so this one has a little story behind it...the fantastic leigh ann decided that she was going to open the bottle of champagne, so she went out of the terrace, which was a smart move.  however, when she popped the cork it went FLYING!!  too funny...

lindsay and kevin...i don't know what to say other than they are TOO CUTE!!  we met up with these two in downtown indy, and although this was our first time meeting, i instantly knew that we were going to have a blast and get some FUN images of the two of them!!  lindsay has this super bubbly, super infectious laugh and the way kevin looks at her...they're SO IN LOVE!! their wedding is in two short weeks...YAY!! so stay tuned- the best is yet to come...thanks you guys for a great afternoon, see you soon!!

i would like to preface this post by saying that in our opinion, no amount of weddings, engagement sessions, family sessions OR even kids sessions can totally prepare you for the the chaos that is...a three year olds birthday party...seriously!!  last weekend parker turned 3 and his super cool mom and dad invited us to document the BIG day...and this wasn't just any old 3rd birthday party, oh no, it was complete with a 12 foot tall dinosaur, an exploding volcano cake, a water balloon fight, a silly-string fight and an egg fight, and all the yummy food you could think of!!  it was GREAT to see kids running around, being silly, and having a blast...it was a good break from the "norm" for us...happy birthday parker!!

then after the silly string, they did an egg race...yes, that's right an EGG RACE, it was hilarious!!

the package said, "a mustache for everyday of the week" and we thought, "oh, emily are brian would LOVE these!" so we picked up two packages and passed them out...i think a few people in their bridal party thought we were CRAZY, but they pull the little backing off the self-adhesive mustaches and put them on!!  i think it's SO important to have fun at weddings, and here is proof that mustaches will make people laugh!!

YAY!!  emily and brian (who you might remember from THIS post) are married!!  we had the awesome opportunity to photograph emily and brian's AMAZING wedding last weekend!!  since they met and fell in love on the beautiful IU campus, it only made sense to have their wedding there!!  no detail was over looked and they were completely surrounded by nothing but love and support from all of their wonderful friends & families!!  a very special thanks to both the burns and gray families, and a extra special thanks to emily & brian...we love you guys and we hope you're having a BLAST in hawaii!!  big hugs to you both!!
